Guarantee Loan; Helping Small Businesses Grow
As part of the governments commitment to assist its constituents in areas of development, a number of guaranteed banks and other lending institutions are now offering loan programs to people or sectors which are covered by the guaranteed loans program. What is a guarantee loan program of the government?
Guaranteed loan programs of the government are those programs that allow certain groups of people or sectors to get loans from financial institutions like banks and lending companies under government guarantees. In other words, a government can give security to loans being given to certain groups or sectors.
Why would the government guarantee certain loans to individuals or groups? There are certain activities being performed by individuals and groups, which are essential to nation building. As the government is committed to support activities of its citizens, which are geared towards more development of the country, it assists these people or groups to generate the much-needed funds for their operations and activities. Since the government would need a mass base to implement such a financial assistance program, it tapped into the existing network of banks and lending institutions. In tapping into the existing network of banks and lending institutions, it created an agreement with these banks and lending institutions.
These agreements usually contain provisions that state where the bank or the lending institution extend loans to certain individuals or groups, which will qualify under the guaranteed loan program, the government through its designated agency will purchase the loan to guarantee the loans. This happens when these loans are taken out by certain individuals and groups, from the bank, and the individual or group who took the loan defaults in the payment thereof.
